MY BACKGROUND

With a passion for behavioral health , Katie has both the skill set and professional background necessary to help clients through therapy and consulting services.

Katie has a decade of experience working with teens, young adults, and families. Katie's expertise includes treating anxiety, depression, school stressors, family stressors, codependency, life transitions and trauma. Katie has worked in various clinical settings and always had in her heart to start her own private practice and she founded her private practice in 2024.

 

Her areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, life and  emotional stressors, and trauma -informed care.

Katie offers a warm and welcoming style when working with clients as well as an evidenced-based style; teaching clients the tools they need to improve their mental wellbeing. Katie utilizes CBT, DBT and ACT modalities in her work. 

 

Katie has extensive knowledge and experience working with and serving Latino a/x clients who are first-gen college students, struggling with acculturation and who may be dealing with the nuances of immigrant family background. Her services can be provided in English and or in Spanish.

Katie's consulting services bring  subject matter expertise about a behavioral health topic of your need. The format of this service can take place via calls, meetings or presentations  to discuss how Katie can support the needs of your practice or organization. This service can be in English and or in Spanish.

Katie has nearly a decade of experience providing counseling/ therapy services  to teens, young adults, families and individuals.

Clinical Supervision & Clinical Consultation

Katie has a decade of experience working with individuals and their families in the clinical social work field.  

Katie has worked in various clinical settings. Katie utilizes her knowledge and experience to help pre-licensed social workers receive clinical supervision to further their growth and meet their clinical supervision hours requirement for advanced licensure. Katie also offers clinical consultation to therapists in the mental health field. 

Katie provides supervision and consultation in a culturally-informed way. 

Katie is authorized to provide clinical supervision in Washington D.C.

Partnered with University of Maryland Safe Center and provided a training on Human Trafficking to DHHS Montgomery County Staff

Conducted a Training to DC Police on Work with Latino (a/x) Families Impacted by Trauma

Provided Bilingual Presentation on the Risks of  Child Sex Trafficking to a Primarily Hispanic Teen Group at DHHS DC
